I was interested in buying a digital camera with a better zoom than my old Canon which is only a 3X. I heard about the coolpix S8100 but although the specs sounded great, c/net said the pictures came out soft/not sharp. I then looked up the review for the coolpix L110 and it received a similar review. I thought Nikon was a good manufacturer but it looks like all the models I looked got less than stellar reviews due to "soft pictures". Can anyone suggest a good point and shoot in the $250 a $300 range that takes good shots and has at least a 12X optical zoom.
