FaxStf is almost certainly not going to work under OS X, Global Village seem to have disappeared and printer companies that do not have the ablility to make their multifunction machines fax from a Mac are annoying.
PageSender certainly looks like it might be an OK product, certainly worth a try now that you have purchased it. There is a trial version of the product at their web site.
Let us know how you get on with it

Peter, My HP scanner has a feature for faxing. I wonder if the poster has a scanner that has features like HP?

Peter, just went back to read the original post. Oooooopps on my part with his Canon and lack of software.
Will have to read the original posts better in the future.
There is software for my HP scanner for faxing. Never have used it. I just prefer email. Still would need a scanner to send some certain stuff.
Why do certain people still like to send a hand-writen note to me via a fax, when they could just send it by email. These people have Microsoft word, wonder why they cannot use it? Beats me?

mrmacfixit posted that the FaxStf would not work under OS X.
But I was under the impression that FAXstf X was an OS X version.
It is not the greatest (easiest to use) but it does work for me.
Both using 10.2 and 10.3 about once per year.

you are quite right in saying that Faxstf X is an OS X version. However, what version of Faxstf X does he have? "an old copy of SmithMicro's FAXstf X" may have run on X 10.1 but probably does not under newer versions of OS X. Once you start using the phrase "old copy" it is best to assume that it will not run.
The new versions of Faxstf X, v10.6 , do run well under Jaguar, Panther and Tiger

Don't know why you need more software. Is it not possible just to fax from your Mac? I fax every day using the native fax capability. At the moment, I'm using Tiger, so in the print menu on the bottom left, in the pdf pulldown menu, choose fax pdf and off you go. I didn't see what OS you were using, so I hope this helps. I faxed before using Jaguar also. Hope this helps.

I almost agree with you. However, my problem with Mac's built-in fax capability is that it doesn't really confirm that the fax was actually sent, nor does it provide a record of faxes sent. Wish it were otherwise because I haven't had great luck with 3rd-party fax software.
