The M11x can run Garry's Mod but not Day of Defeat Source?

As the title says, it can run Garry's Mod, Half-Life 2 plus all episodes on extreme settings without any problem but when I try to run Day of Defeat Source or Counter-Strike source I get about 5 fps on medium settings.

Yes, I have whitelisted hl2.exe

EDIT: I can also load Day of Defeat Source maps in Garry's Mod without any fps issues...

Bumping this,

I have tested other source games such as Portal and Team FOrtress 2, they work fine...

If I remember correctly there should be a DoD.exe somewhere

What driver v you got? Can you see GPU running in system tray?

I had a look in the steam flolder but all I can find is hl2.exe in the dod folder, nothing else. And I'm running the latest dell driver.

I have already tested the latest driver from nvidia's site but it didn't work.

Just to confirm, verify/defrag your steam cache files. you can do this buy right clicking on the game and going to properties. Just to make sure its not on steam's end of the installation part (which can happen a lot)

Are you also in high performance mode?

That has been done now and it still gives me the worst fps I have ver seen. Yes, I got hl2.exe to run in high performance mode.

What driver are you using and have you tried any different driver versions?

Hmm.. Looks like manskinboots had same problem...

NVIDIA Geoforce GT 335M (11xR2) Causes Game Crashes

Maybe he can enlighten us on if and how he fixed it..

I would suggest re-posting this in the game crashes thread that is a sticky.

M11x - Issues with gaming lockups and crashes - Discussion thread

If anything that will bring it more attention and also its posting it in the correct place and possibly the answer already lies within that thread but I don't have to read through it because I don't have this issue..

The only last thing I can think of is try overclocking CPU and overclocking GPU and also try turning off speed step and turbo boost in the BIOS (do that for both occasions)

Turning off Speed step and turbo boost in BIOS for GTA has increased the performance greatly.. perhaps it will work the same

Turbo Boost and Speed Step are now disabled and I have been trying with two games, Portal and Deay of Defeat Source, Portal still works fine but Day of Defeat got worse...
