Compatibility Issue Word 2007 with word 2010

I recently move to 2010 office, but i found this issue.
When you create your document in word 2010 and send it to others that use office 2007, all the spaces are gone, the words will touch each other in one paragraph, make you have to edit it once more and it really hard work to do if you have hundreds of pages of document.

Anyway i have tried to open the docx in some other computer that using word 2007, all shown same result, no signs of space bar.

Any idea why and how to fix it?

http://www.techeye.net/software/open-xml-in-microsoft-word-ruins-essays mentions a possible cause. The remedy: don't save in open-xml (.odt), but use native Office .docx format (or even .doc or .rtf if your target doesn't speak .docx).

Using .docx should work between Office 2010 and Office 2007.
